opinion electronic powder dispenser and scale

I like your opinion on the electronic powder dispensers and scales.  I'm in the medical field and am some what of a fanatic about weighing each charge.  Figure one of these would speed up reloading time.

My vote goes to the RCBS combo dispenser & digital scale.  Works great, repeatable, and fast.  Makes my old AMT Autoscale look like an antique.

I have the lyman 1200 DPS and have been thoroughly happy with it.  My bad eyes had trouble seeing the fine marks on my old scale...this thing works like a dream!  Fearless

I have had a PACT Electronic Digital Power Scale and Electronic Digital Powder Dispenser for about 3 years now. While it is quite accurate it is not perfect. I generally set mine for a charge weight 1/10gr. less than I want and bump in the last 1/10gr. Mine will vary by 1/10 or so at times.

However I think you will find these types of measures are not all that speedy. Granted this depends on the granuale size of the powder (the coarser the granuales of the powder the faster it seems to dispense them) and the charge weight. Once I dump the powder charge in the case I push the dispense button on the measure. I then seat my bullet and measure the COL, and prime the next case (with my Hornady Auto Prime) in the time it takes to dispense my next powder charge.

All in all I guess I would not want to be without the one I have as it has spoiled me.

I've been using the RCBS combo for about three years and it has been great. It sure beats the beam scale. They claim the new one from RCBS is better and faster but, if ain't broke don't fix it.

I have the lyman.  It is a little faster than hand trickling onto a digital scale and rarely makes a mistake.  Use it for extruded powders only.  My powder measures will drop the ball powders faster and just as accurate.

Powder Measures

I have the Pact system and it works very well. Accurate to 1/10th grain. Very good with extruded powder. If you choose this system make sure the measure and the scale are calibrated with each use. No vibration on the bench. If seating bullets when using the system be sure the press is not on the same bench. Also no fans or open windows. The scale is a single post design I would prefer a four post like my old Dillon. I have a couple of scales and use them to check each other. I like what I have read about the RCBS system and might give it a try.
