4 inch to 6 inch barrel on a S&W 686
« on: October 03, 2005, 05:56:48 PM »
Hi all,

How hard is it to change out a 4inch barrel to a 6 inch barrel on a S&W 686 and what would be the cost?

Thanks,

Bill T.

You might make out the same if you just sold the 4 inch and bought a 6 inch. But if you want to do the swap, call a good gun smith or S&W.  :D

Better to just go buy a 6", and keep the 4". I think after side by side comparison you'll find that the 4" balances and carries better, and shoots as well. I prefer the 4:
