Marlin 336 A 30-30 with BALLARD rifling

I just purchased the above rifle for $250.00. It is in in about 90% condition and just needs to be recrowned. There are 4 riflings in the barrel the Serial # reads F 589XX. I have a feeling she is going to be a real shooter. The action is as smooth as soft butter. It has what looks to be a 24" barrel and the barrel sticks at least 10" past the magazine.
Anyone know if I got a deal?

I have one of those, and they will indeed 'put 'em put there' for ya.
I had to REALLY clean my bore before it would even hit planet earth with cast bullets, but once i did get it jacket-free,it's a hoot to shoot.
Nice find!!
