Tim, Asa's Muskrat lure is also a super coon lure.
For baits I use Blackies Fatal attraction(super strong shellfish) and his Fur King(very sweet bait). I use both at the same areas, gives coon a choice.
Blackies new, sledge hammer(loud and super sweet lure) and Power Putty will also be on my line this year,as well as in my catalog.

Bait: fish, fish and more fish.  Lure: fish oil mixed with either Outlaw or Procoon.  I use these three in boxes, dirtholes or pvc sets with about the same effect.  This year I am trying some beer-corn as an experiment.

15,my guess is,you have never tried professionally made---lures and baits. They stand up better to changing weather conditions, and have way more pulling power than a marshmallow or sardine.
I am not saying you won't catch coon with those things, but your take will be much larger when you use those put up by people that do it for a living.
Of course, you do need to have the coon to catch.

Coon prices in the dumper, and a flooded market.....any suggestion on lure that will cause coon avoidance?  :D
