Has anyone tried the combined technology 55 gr  supreme hunting bullets in 223 handy rifle? If so what powder? And how did they shoot? I only have 4064 and H380 on hand for this small of case right now.  Is varget a good 223 powder?  Also should I neck size or full lenght size these cases since they will only be fired in one handy  rifle? My brother shot some of these in his TR100 Rem. and they basiclly made one ragged hole.

Swiftman,

I can't really comment on the combined tech. bullets you're talking about, even though I was thinking about them while looking through the Cabelas shooting catalog last night.  Yes, Varget is a good powder for the .223.  I use 27.3 gr. of it under a 50gr. v-max.  I just necksize the brass, mostly because I've been using a lee loader, but also because it's quicker.  It works for me, since my rifle will shoot under half inch groups for 5 shots at 100yds.  I still have about 250 pieces of Lake City brass that I need to FL resize that was originally shot in another handi rifle I owned.  Good luck.

I like the CT bullets...always have...they usually are the first ones I try in a new barrel...I haven't shot them in a 223 though.but I think they should work good.....I have tried them in a 243...25-06...270...30-06...and am getting ready to try them out in my 338-06...the Lubalox coating is pretty good stuff...it helps keep pressures down...but you don't want to mix it with the blue coating that is on the Barnes bullet...it messes up accuracy and is a real pain in the backside to clean it all out of your barrels...

Good Luck
