It snowed!!!
« on: October 05, 2005, 06:02:23 PM »
It was snowing hard early this morning. We got a couple of inches.Gary Jepson called me from his place in Killdeer N.D. and they had 2 feet of snow on the ground. They had been without power for quite some time.It knocked down 2 trees across his driveway. It's 23 degrees here now and clear as a bell.I wonder if we just hurried up dispersal?
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!

Our area had from 6 to 10 inches of rain last night. The cold is starting to hit us now.If we had gotten the cold last night ,we would be buried under 6 to 8 feet of snow. After this cold snap ,they are predicting back to the 60's next week.
 God I loved the 60's.

Dave, we are the same age.
I wanted to enlist when I graduated from high school. My father ,who was a WW11 vet and had been a German prisoner of war, asked me to go to college first.
Things ended in Vietnam when I was a senior in college.Recruiters tried to interest me in a career as an officer, but after fending for myself for 4 years,I wasn't to keen on taking orders from anyone.
What I loved most about the 60's was the music.New bands were popping up all over, and play lists were not as restrictive as today.
To me,rock music peaked during the years of 1965 to 1967.

Hasn't snowed up here yet at ground level.  It is snowing at the 2,000 foot level on the mountain across the road.  I am going to try for a mountian goat on Saturday if I can get the boat out to where the goats are.

Snow is coming though.

Newt,my younger brother and I both drew #34.I would have gone in right after I finnished my education.
The only time I never missed a class, was during the student strike.
Seemed like the police were headed for school, each day as I left town for work. Those were some crazy times.

Boston and journey were minor league players. The Eagles gleaned a lot of their style from Roger Mcguinn and the Byrds.
 Think about it a minute, mid 60s radio---The Animals,The Beach Boys,the Beatles,The Byrds,The Rolling Stones,Jimi Hendrix,The Jefferson Airplane,The Turtles, Bob Dylan,Santana,Linda Ronstadt,Lovin Spoonfull,Mammas and The pappas, Van Morrison.,The Doors.
The Eagles are in the same class as those listed above, but Boston and Journey sure aren't.

Cub,I think that was 1968. Iron Butterfly was one of the many one hit wonders of the 60s.
