trapline dogs

I have an 8 year old mix dog that I used to hunt everything with when she was younger but now her hearing and eyes are going and her hips arnt so good so do you think she make a good trapping partner or would the scent of a dog scare off fox and coyote. even it it will she can still keep me company in the truck

I took my Golden Retriever through her 13th year.Never bothered canines or cats.I used her to find animals on drags.She was a great companion.One day she ate my sandwich while I reworked a set.

Take her with you, she will love it and so will you... If you are going to use her for trailing drags she will learn quickly with some help fm you..... also she will located scent posts and little things that you miss.... You will gain a wealth of information and  good and some bad  :cry:  times... the good times will out weight the bad by triple.....
   Dogs dont bother  canines at all in fact  make them more  inquisitive  and end up checking yr sets out... Good luck and trapping and with your new trapping partner..  
 Psst....  you might have to help her in the truck with her bad hips but she will let you know  as she will stand by truck door and not jump in....
