The time is rapidly rolling around for me to depart for the wilds, in search of the mighty swamp donkey. (never did like that name)
I'll be packing my blackbear licence, and a shared Bull tag. I think the rifles will be my trusty 1886 Win in 45-70 and one of my 303 SMLE's, loaded with Steve Regwells 200 grain .313 diam custom bullets.
If I can get more range time in before next weekend, I may take my Ross rifle instead of the 45-70 and shoot only 303's this year.
I know, there is lots of discussion on weather the trusty 303 is enough for moose, but, thousands of Canadian moose can't be wrong. So it's going.
I only go moose hunting for a week, then I'm back for a week, and off deer hunting for two more weeks. It's my favorite time of year.
