209X50 Encore ????
« on: October 09, 2005, 12:04:59 PM »
I love my Encores so much that I've been toying with the idea of getting rid of my Contender stuff and getting more Encore stuff . I got my first Encore from a buddy that didn't like it so he sold it to me with the 209X50 barrel on it. I've added other rifle and pistol barrels and another Encore action to the collection. I wasn't very interested in the 209 X 50  barrel so it sat in my safe for about 4 years. I don't know what did it but now I'm interested.
I've got 2 pounds of RS powder, a  box of 50/50 pellets and about 1000 209 primers along with some 180, 300, and 340 grain bullets and a couple of different sabots. Green and black. Does anyone use the RS powder anymore? The .300 gn bullets are cast that I have a mold for does anyone shoot these. I've got an extra TC scope but I have to get a base and rings for it. Hopefully I'll have time to get it ready for deer season. What ya'll think? Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Bim

I also got rid of all my contender stuff, I have 4 Encore frames. I could not be happier.  :-D  As for the RS powder, i can't help you. I shoot either pellet or powder triple7. :D

I normaly use the pyroded R/S in my Knight lk-93
But right now I am using true goex powder in my 15 inch 2009x50 and 26 inch 209x45. it works just as good and cheaper  around $18 for the black powde compared to around $23 for the R/S.
watch what 209 primer you use. T/C told me not to use any m209 mag primers, they said you will get a lot of blow back into the frame.

I use American Pioneer ( very clean powder ) and 777 pellets. Powerbelt bullets 245, 295 and 348 grains..accuracy not that great, bought an Omega Z5 and a Pursuit LT to do my deer hunting with now. Probably will get it out and give it another try this week, BP opens 10-22-05 here in Oklahoma.
