h&r doesnt offer....
« on: October 10, 2005, 01:09:33 PM »
the .204 in ultra according to their site. i wanted an ultra in .204 to replace my encore i am selling. what gives? why not chamber a more expensive gun in a popular round that people will buy??

now i can either buy the handi and buy a new stock set for it and be stuck with the plain looking receiver, or buy an ultra and have to send it in to get an unpolished handi barrel in .204 put on it. grrrr...

mjbgalt, why not get the ULtra Varmint with Fluted barrel? It is available in .223, .204 and .22-250. I ordered a .204 last week then changed my mind and went with the .223 so I wouldn't have to buy everything new for reloading. Just an idea.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe I that they now have some of the Fluted Bull Barrels at the factory to get fitted if you send in your reciever. Of course it wouldn't be on the site as they don't touch it very often.
I could be wrong, so don't shoot the messenger if so.

Hey mjbgalt, if you buy one of the Ultra Varmint Fluted models, I have a Laminated Stock I would trade ya for the varmint stock

Those Chaote stocks maybe ugly to some, but they really make most of my Handi's more accurate and take a lot of recoil out of my 45-70. Fluted barrel models shoot around 1/2 to 3/4 " at a 100.
