Our season coincides with deer season and most people here hunt deer with dogs. Since hounds are attracted to any type of bait or stinky lure, I was wondering if you guys knew of any dog proof sets. Years ago I used one with moderate success. I would put the bait or visual attractor close to a hump made by a downed tree, dirt mound, etc. and set the trap on the mound. Foxes would usually jump up on the hump to check out the set and sometimes get caught, while dogs would generally go straight to the bait. I haven't trapped for a while so I'm not really up on current tricks... Any tips would be appreciated.
