BFR .45/70 a lot of fun
« on: October 13, 2005, 10:26:47 AM »
Shot my brand new Magnum Reaserch BFR .45/70 this weekend. What a blast. It is big ,,and it is accurate. Factory ammo (Remington 300gr and 406 gr was pleasent. Muzzle rises about 45 degrees but does not slap hard and twist like a light weight 44 mag. Shot five in a row and not at all sore. was hitting 4 inch clay pigeons(not in flight of course) at thirty yards most of the time. I like it. I guess I now need to start reloading so I can shoot it more.. over a buck a piece factory.. I love it.. Those who think it has too much recoil need to try one. I am not that big of a guy and no problem.. A friend of mine shot a few and wanted more,,  5'7" 155 lbs.. small guy and not a big bore shooter.. A novice.. Whish I had more ammo//

Cool!
Did you get it with the 10" barrel?
Magnum Research sure makes an impressive revolver!
Are you gonna hunt with it?

I think Magnum Research makes a great gun. I love the BFR. I have one in 500MAG.  :D

I love the 45-70 cartridge, I shot both 45-70 and 45-90 SS rifles.  Many are intimidated by this hand cannon, when from what I understand a .454 .460, 480 and the 500 S&W have more felt recoil, than the 45-70.

These are awesome

Dang if Reed's Ammunition & Research has BFR's
