i went to the range for the final sightin of my 445sm this morning.the last visit to the range was good but when i got home i discovered my scope base screws were loose and the scope base moved back and forth alittle.i put some loc tite on the screws and thightened those suckers back up.
my 445sm barrel has a 2x Leupold scope mounted on it so i need a bigger aiming point at 100yds than i use for my 357max barrel and my rifles.i cut some red 4.5" x 4.5" paper squares for my target.at 100yds i can really see if im on bullseye when i use these squares this size with the 2x scope.you can see the red points on all sides of the cross hair.my first 2 shots i fired were alittle low and abit to the left of the square but those two holes in the target were almost touching.i made a scope adjustment and fired again.this time the hole was in the center of the red square.the next couple shots were right in there too,i would say i had about an 1.5inch group.i then moved to a new square and fired two more shots.when i looked down at the target through the spotting scope this time i could see my group opened up some.i felt the barrel and it was very hot.i changed the 445sm barrel and shot my 357max barrel for a time so the super mag could cool off.once the 445 was cool again i changed it out and shot a 3 shot group.this time i had a 3 shot group in the red square that was under the 1.5inch mark, center to center i would say it was 1 1/4 inch.this 445sm is a real shooter with a cold barrel and i cant wait till the firearm deer opens to try her out.
