CZ 452 / 453 American
« on: October 13, 2005, 02:47:07 PM »
I just ordered a new CZ 453 American yesterday.  Should have it by early next week.

Everything I've read indicates that the 452's are real shooters.  Hope the 453's are just as accurate.  The new 453's have a single set trigger.  I'm thinking using it in "set" mode will be great for bench shooting at the range and you can use it like a regular trigger when in the field hunting.

Anyone have any experience with the CZ 452 or especially the new 453?

Thanks

What kind of ammo does your gun like.  I realize it might be something quite different for my gun.

I used several brands and they all shot extremely well.

alongside our kimbers, with several brands of good ammo.  we still have the cz's and sold the kimbers.

Keep in mind, useing the set trigger increases the "lock time" immensely and that's counter productive to accuracy.

I have a CZ 452 that I have had for quite a while. The trigger wasn’t all that good when I got it. I put in a spring from the spring kit, and took it apart and stoned the mating surfaces. Now, I don’t know that I would want the set trigger. The set trigger is slow, but from a rest it probably doesn’t matter. Standing, it makes a big difference. If the single stage trigger is good enough on your 453, you can ignore the set trigger except for special occasions.
