What kind of scopes( plain scope/red dot/halo sight) do you guys use for deer/hog hunting on your contender pistols?  I was thinking of adding one of my Eotech halo sights to start out with, but don't for sure how I will like the setup since this will be my first T/C contender pistol setup.

What are the distances you are going to hunt? Also are you going to be hunting from a stand, ground, or stocking? We can better answer your question with a little more details.  :D

357 Max 10"  wears a Nikon 2X
22 Mag 10" wears a Nikon 2X
223 14" wears a Nikon 2X

I'm partial to the Nikon 2X.

I use fixed power scopes 2x or 4x on revolvers and Burris variables on bottle neck cartridges.

I put my first scope on a handgun in 1968 befor the Red Dots came out and got used to the cross hairs in the center and not floating around. I personally don`t like the Red Dot sights, but many others do. I bought 2 Burrius scopes and both were junk out of the box, I`ll never buy another one of them. At present I have several scoped handguns. My .454 Red Hawk as a 2x. My .357 max. barrel for the Encore wears a 4x scope. My .222 Rem. barrel for the Contender and my 500 S&W both wear 2 1/2 x 8 scopes. I only buy Leupold scopes. I`ve had most of the brands on the market over the years and Leupold is the only one that I`ve never had problems with.
