Just thought I'd share my experience.
I bought a Bushnell elite 3200 3-9x40 matte about 2+ years ago and mounted it on my Tikka 7 mag. I started working on reloads to make it shoot good. Basically, could never find a load that shot real well (less than 1.5" consistantly). About 2 months ago, I got a wild idea and replaced the 3200 with a Nikon Monarch 3-9x40. I had also just bought an Omega 50cal and needed a scope for it. I put the 3200 on the Omega. Recently, I tried grouping the Omega 50 at 100 yards. I would shoot, then adjust the scope. Every time I got inconsistant movement i.e. up when I only moved left or right. Sometimes no movement when I moved it down, etc. By the way, I was cleaning the Omega between shots so to minimize the buildup effect. All mounts are tight. I also "bumped" the scope with my hand after every adjustment and ran the power from 3 to 9 several times to settle the scope. Bottom line, I believe that its the scope not tracking with adjustments. I am contacting Bushnell to see my options.
By the way, the new Monarch on the 7 mag shoots real good. My first group(5 shots) with 160 Accubonds was about an inch. My latest 5 shot group was exactly 1.0"; if excluded the first shot, then the remaining 4 shots went 0.45". I am now confident enough to use this gun this upcoming deer season, but will continue to verify this particular load. It has potential.
FYI, I have another Bushnell 3200, exactly the same, on my 7mm-08. No problems, working great.
thanks,
