Model 85 questions

Howdy ya'll

I've been looking for a good snubnose 38 for conceal carry. Ran across a local dealer that has the Model 85 for 199 bucks in either blue or SS.
I have no experience with Taurus guns and was wondering if there is much trouble with this model and how well do they shoot? How well do they hold their value? Really I guess I'm not to worried about resale if the gun shoots well.
What kind of ammo does your's like? Thanks

Andrew

Andrew;  I've been shooting one for about three years and have had no trouble at all.  $199 sounds like a fair price.  I shoot mostly my own reloads so I don't have an opinion on ammunition.  Hope this helps.

I had on and traded it to my son in law for my daughter to use. SS version and never had any problems. Fairly accurate for its size. Same son in law carries a DOA blued version as a back-up gun. No problems with it either. I just got Ultralite blue version this weekend, but have not had a chance to shoot it yet. Bought it based on the reliability of the other two I have experience with. I did put som Pachmeyers on Ultralite since I bought it for my truck gun and don't intend to carry it concealed. Good guns for the money, in my opinion only.

I have an 85CH thats a good shooter. A set of uncle mikes boot grips really make it nice.   KN

I put about half a box through my Ultra-Lite last weekend. No problems and the double action was heavy, but acceptable. Single action very good. Accurate once you figure out how to line up the "sights". Haven't shot it with the factory grips, but the Pachmeyers make it very easy to control.

Bought my daughter the Ultra-Light several years ago. She carries it when back packing. Practices with it every couple of months. It's reasonably accurate and she likes it a lot.
