marlin 7000?

I'm thinking about buying one of these.I haven't owned a 22 for a whole lot of years,except for my 22 ruger pistol,and thats really my wifes.How do you all like that over the model 60?is that any better than the 60?if so in what way? more accurate?thanks guys. sj :?

Sjones: I own a 7000 and a early 880SQ, they are nearly equal in accuracy @ 100yds. with Win. Dyna Points.
The 7000 is basically a clip fed 60, instead of a tube fed, with a bull barrel.
The only thing I don't like about this rifle, is the stock, but it's more of a personal thing. Plastic just doesn't feel right to me, although I can see the utilitarian purpose behind it.
The Marlin 7000 is their answer to Ruger Race guns, for us po'boys.

The Marlin 7000 is the same action as the 60,but with a shorter bull barrel and synthetic stock.I to dont like the synthetic stock over the wood but thats just me.The 7000 is the most accurate auto out there period{out of the box}(I challange anyone out there to prove me wrong).Mine will shoot Federal game shoks(hunting ammo) at 1/2 inch at 60 yards,It will probably do better with target ammo,you cant go wrong with the 7000.

I have had a 7000 (gave it to my grandson)  also have 880SQ, CZ, tricked out 10/22 plus many others over the years ...
