Has anyone had any experience, load data or general comments about this cartridge? When did T/C make this barrel and how good was it.

Thank, John

No clue when they made that barrel but there is a lot of load data in some of the older loading books. IF you ever decide to part with that barrel I would certainly want to be on that list. Brass can be made up from 30-30 brass with little trouble and you could expect bullet speeds to exceed the best of the .223 data.

I,ve seen a total of two of these barrells in a lifetime of TC carousing.  I passed on the first one....didn't make that mistake on the second.  I'm guessing they made a run in the mid to late '80's.  I've got to admit to not giving it as much time as it deserves.  All my notes are still packed away (from moving) so a feeble memory is all you get for now.  I found some old load data for Winchester lever guns and started there...conservatively.  IMR 4320 is my best powder so far.  I found a set of Redding dies and Redding forming dies.  I soon learned that it was a lot easier and cheaper to have bought Win 25-35 brass.  Just lube it good and once through the FL die and you're good to go.  I found the brass (Winchester) at Midway, I think, at very little more that 30-30 price.  Good Luck with it and keep in touch.  I doubt that I'll get mine out again before spring.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt

Thanks Walt. I've been looking at T/C barrels for years and this is the first .219 Zipper that I had seen so I jumped on it. I agree 25-35 brass is the way to go. I'll keep you posted.
