They list it at around 158gr SP 1,394fps 683 lbs muzzle energy. I would say on deer at reasonable range it will do good if it shoots for you. Don't know what they used for the data, I would assume a short pistol type barrel. I would think you would get something higher. I have been told to use the soft point ammo in pistol type loads for hunting anyway. Most hollow points are made for very rapid expansion, personal defense.
Just make a good shot, don't force it. I know how hard it is to pass on a deer because of your gun. Used a 44 Mag for a few years, saw some nice deer, but couldn't get a good shot at them.
