LiL Dandy for 38 Special

I recently got a used RCBS Lil Dandy powder measure. I've got the rotors and powders pretty much covered for the 357 and 44 Mags, but I would like some input on powder and rotors folks use for 38 special.

I plan to go and get a pound of powder this week to try. Nothing near max, I don't even load the Magnums near max. I just want a fun load for my old M&P 38 and don't want to have to buy a lot of rotors to try.

I've measured the "published data" for the higher ended rotors (Magnum loads) and they are well off in some cases for H110 and Blue Dot. I usually measure at least 10 charges to get an ideal of what the Dandy is throwing.

For a fun load for your M&P, you could do no better than good old Unique, It's a little bulkier than some and fills the case up more, and doesn't have the  quick pressure spike of the  target powders. I use a Hornady powder measure with the bushings, same principle as the Lil Dandy, and Unique works very well. If you want a more economical powder (more shots per pound) try a quicker target powder like HP38, W231, AA#2, they all meter exceptionally well. Iv'e sent thousands of 158gr slugs out of my S&W's using Unique, and it's hard to beat!
