Blackhawk - front sight
« on: October 22, 2005, 08:33:30 AM »
How hard is it to remove the front sight on a NM Blackhawk? It seems to be crooked or even bent just a tad. Not sure how it got that way, I have always taken extremely good care of it since I bought it new a few months ago. I may send it back to Ruger to fix unless I can do it myself.
I am not sure how the front sight is removed. Anyone here ever done that?? Thanks for any feedback.

It appears to me that the sight is slightly bent to the left. Picture angle makes it look worse than it really is, but it still leans to the left a little.

Check your ejector tube as a way to make sure your barrel isn't turned. I'd send it to Ruger for fixing.

I think the Prof is right.  I think you have a turning barrel.  I would sent it to Ruger.

Hows it shooting? If your getting good groups that arent moving I wouldnt send it anywhere. Nothing wrong with a little character on your sixgun. All mine have their quirks.

I don't have any problems with any of my handguns. If I were you I'd send it to Ruger to be fixed. :D
