I need to put a scope on my 14" .204 Ruger, and I'm having a hard time with the way to go about it- hi-mag pistol or a rifle scope, either in the 10x range. I'll be hunting long range paper, and the rare 'yote/varmint

Feel free to throw out some Ideas

I've got a 2.5x8 Leo on a couple barrels and Burris,Simmons and other scopes on different guns. I LIKE the Leo"s but the Burris isn't far behind. Just look in your wallet and buy the best you can afford.

I just put a 2.5 x 7 Tv scope on my .204 14" ruger and it seems to work great. I will buy more as a new is abot what I would pay for a used leo.

My varmint handguns have either a Burris 3x9LER or the newer 3x12LER on them. These are Contenders in .218Bee, .221Fireball, and .223Remington. Also have Encore barrels in: .22BR, .225Winchester, and .22-.250Remington. I used rifle scopes on the scopes with little recoil but still like the eye relief of the Burris scopes so I went to them. Have a great time with picket pins, p-dogs, and coyotes. :-)

Stick with a handgun scope. A Leupold VX-III 2.5-8x32mm Handgun would work great. JMHO.

Thanks for the advise guys, I'm thinking either a VX-III 2x8 or a fixed 10 would be real nice
