That top rifle has a nice stock, looks like Myrtle wood. Where did you get it.

i can't post a pic from here (school) but mine most resembles Quick's bottom most pic but in .308 with a Simmons 1.5-5 Pro-diamond, which will be re-replaced with a Nikon Pro-staff 3-9x40 which i sent for repairs.

Quick and Mac... what are those called with the three colors, the green, blue, brown layers in the laminates?

Here's my humble offering: currently have 2 lams, a 223HB and a 308 Ultra. I have a 357max Ultra on the way, but it ain't here to photograph.

Upper: 223 Ultra w/24" Heavy barrel
Lower: 308 w/22" contour barrel

Thanks Tim.

So what is this called, the stocks on my 223HB Ultra? I thought this was camo laminate because though it is mostly a grey color, there seems to be a greenish tinge to it:

Or is it possibly the wild and elusive grey laminate that I've heard exists.. but have not yet seen?

Cheers

The cinnamon and camo laminate stocks are listed in the Retail Parts Price list available from H&R by request. This is the same as their annual catalog.

Well here is my 257 Roberts.
Yesterday, with the new hammer spring I shot  three 3 shot groups at 100m two with the Speer 100gr and one with Nosler 100gr BT.  .531, .563, and .312 not to shabby a 7.25 lbs gun. The new spring increased the trigger pull by 6 oz  so it must be quite a bit stronger. But ignition is positive.

I REALLY appreciate the replies on this. I decided on the Pine Ridge scope from Cabelas for right now. I would switch out my Mueller but I dont want to take it off of my Bushmaster Varmiter.

Again, Thanks for the eye candy and ideas gathered from the replies.

Went out again today to fire two more groups of three each over the Chrono since I added one more grain of powder. these two came out at .565" for the Speer and .430 for the Nosler BT's.

The aggregate for five consecutive groups  with two kinds of bullets is

531+563+ 565+312+430= 2401/5= .480 Av. not just a single isolated group. It looks as though this accuracy is repeatable.

Vel for the Speer 3114 ft and the Nosler BT's  3134
I also ran the 75gr V-max over the Chrono @ 3401 Av. These bullets are tack drivers.

Quick Load predicted 3162 for the BT's and 3144 for the Speer @53383 psi. Since the actual vel. is lower than predicted 53K would perhaps be close.

If I adjust the powder factor to conform to the velocity the prediction would be a bit closer. But then this can of powder is almost gone so I wont change anything. Besides it is only arm chair math. :)  :D

By the way I made the cases from Fed 270 brass. They have 1.0gr less Ho2 but allows for an excact outside neck reamed neck wall of 0.0122" for minimal expansion of 0.002" with the expander ball for BR uniformity and concentricity.

This is really tough brass and very uniform. No stuck cases. No gap trouble, the putty job is doing well..

Are Handi's tough to tune, you bet this one was.

They look fine to me, maybe you're not waiting long enough for the pics to load if you're on dialup, there are so many pics on this page that it takes a few seconds to load even on a 7Mbit broadband connection.
