i just got the reamer from Ed in AL and it looks just like new.it seems to be very sharp just like when i got it.are you sure you guys used it for rechambering? :-D

i hope the rechambers work out good for all of you.i am very happy with my 445sm and the accuracy is very good with the 240gr Remington bullets.with the upcoming Michigan firearm deer season i hope to try mine out then.SLAM SOME LEAD if you know what i mean :mrgreen:

I think everone is happy with the 445 supermag,and I'm one of them.Its alot closer to the 444 marlin than I thought it would be. I measured my chamber in my 44 barrel and it .010 larger than it should be,so that why the brass is bulgeing at the web. I've killed 2 hogs with mine and can't wait to drop a whitetail with it.  Digger

Shot a mulie doe with mine this afternoon.  Fulfilled my plan to shoot something with my "44" on my 44th birthday ...

I am very pleased.  The 265gr WFN causes a spectacular bang-flop at 100 yards.

good going MtJerry on your deer :toast: how did the bullet peform on the deer?did it open up some and leave a nice big exit hole?

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late report.  I had to go back to the mountains and get my camper today.

The 445 Super Mag (or as I like to call it the "44" super mag), really performed well.  I had it sighted in dead on at 100 yards before I left using a Williams WGRS sight and factory front sight.

I shot the deer late yesterday evening (getting dark quickly) and had some trouble with the sight picture due to the lack of light.  Peep sights have NO light gathering qualities  :oops: , I finally got settled in and pulled the trigger - bang ... whap goes that LARGE meplat ... and flop went the deer.

Bullet penetrated completely thru the upper lungs and I did not recover the bullet.  The entry and exit holes were the same size even though it hit ribs going in and nicked the spine going out.

I am EXTREMELY impressed with the 44 super mag.  I think it can stand side by side with the 444 marlin.  

I think my 45-70 may take a back seat for a while ... this round is addicting.   :wink:

You're right about the near equal of the 444 marlin MtJerry, this rd. is one heavy hitter with not so much recoil. Now if Marlin would test this rd. in one of there lever guns,it would fill a niche between the 44 mag and the 444. I think I would buy one if it would still shoot the 44 mag also.  Digger

not much recoil you say :shock:
wish you lived closer to me and you could hit the switch on my 445sm Contender :shock:
the first few times is an eye opener.the recoil isnt brutal but its a handfull.it makes my 357max seem like a pop gun.just think 45-70 barrels can be had for the tenders too :shock: i bet they would really set you free
