I took some time off from bowhunting yesterday afternoon and finally shot some APP Shockey's Gold in my Omega. My Omega is topped off with a Nikon 2-7 scope.
I used 250 grn Hornady SST's and Remington Kleanbore primers. I started low with 80 grains by volume, and worked up to 110 gr. At 50 yds, I got a 5 shot 1" group at 110 gr. . I about whizzed in my shorts when I saw it! I put the target out at 100 yds and shot one 3-shot group. It opened up to about 3 inches, but the wind had picked up and it was getting close to dark, so I can't say for sure if it was the load or me that was off.
Anyhow, I had no crud ring :-D! However, it seemed to me that the kleanbore primers left a lot more residue on the breechplug.
Anyhow, I can't wait to get back out and shoot some more and get a more realistic idea of how well I am shooting at 100yds.
