I don't like the new sights as well.  I like the click adjustable ones that came on the older model.

I love mine, I use a scope, but sights are fine that come on it.  With the open sights, I set them for 100 yards and never touch them again. Z5  really shoots well..............

Found a deal on a Z5 that my son-in-law got.  $265 out the door with tax included.  Put a 1.5 X 4 BSA scope on it and took it out yesterday.  Shot 100 grains of APP 2F with hornady 240 gr XTP (.44 cal)  with green sabots .  Shot 1 inch group at 50 yards.  Loaded relatively easy.  Might need a palm saver when in the field.  We were using a nice heavy steel range rod and loaded  5 consecutive shots without swabbing.  Was a little tight but not bad.  Didn't have time to try it at 100 yards.  This rifle is the best out there in the $300 and lower price range.  The quality is great and you have a lifetime warranty.  You can not go wrong.

Bump. We nead more answers on this model. It isn`t on T/C website yet even and the ones, the regular Omegas say they have click adjustable sights, that sounds like a great feature. I would also like to know the difference between the regular Omega and Z5 model? Jack.

I have a Z5, good adjustable sights, 28" barrel, synthetic stock, good bluing, great trigger. Took a buck at 135 yards last week.  Heard the sights and bluing were suppose to be different, but I've never seen a side by side comparison.

I just checked some out on Gunbroker.Com  Here is what I can see:

Omega: Click Adjustable Sights-Blued Trigger and Gaurd/Hammer Block

Z5:Cheaper Sights/Stainless Trigger/gaurd/Block

The sights on the Z5 look like the ones on my NRF Sidekick and I have to agree, the click adjustable ones are much nicer, but with the Z5 you get the stainless steel trigger/gaurd/block. The blueing may be nicer on the regular modol, but I can`t tell form the pictures. The stock may be better also, but I can`t tell that either.

It would be a tough choice for me as I like the click adjustable sights better and actually like the blueing on everything on the regular model. You do save about $50-100 on the Z5 though.

Tough decision for sure.

Jack.

I was just at 2 major sporting goods stores over the last two weekends, looks like all the NEW Omega's have the Williams Fire-Sights just like the Z5. The click adjustable ones were only on last years models, so they will probably be an upgrade option if they will be offered at all in the future. Just thought I would let you know what I have seen. I would bet that once they run out of them they will be gone and since most of these will be scoped it won't matter to the consumer but T/C will be pocketing some big bucks I'm sure.

Not that the Fire-Sights are a bad sight by any means, but the click adjustable sights are more user friendly to someone shooting without a scope.

I agree Busta, except that I use the open sights :( I alos noticed that alot of sights that carry the Omea don`t carry the regular Black/Blue model, but do have the Z5, this must be the replacement for the regular Blue/Black model. Jack.

Like alot of people I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these but really didn't want to spend another $275 for another black powder rifle.  Well I was in Wal-Mart today and they had all their black powder stuff and rifles on clearance.  They had the Z5 on sale for $169.  So I figured what the heck, even if I didn't like it that well I could probably sell it for more than that.  So I went ahead and got it, it was the last one they had also.  Just wish I could cut the stock down another 3/4".  So if anyone wants an Omega check Wal-Mart and see if they have a clearance sale.

IF I could find one at that price I would get it today.None of the wal marts around here havt any all they carry is Cva. I did see a stanilles synthetic at a local Sporting goods store for 459.00. Can't afford that. If any one knows od onw in the Region from St. Louis South to Cape girardeau or any where else let me know. I think they can ship them without an ffl.
