Harvester Sabots - bullet diameter?
« on: October 25, 2005, 04:50:55 AM »
I heard these load easier, so I was going to order some of these sabots last night. The problem is, they list them by bullet diameter in my catalogs. I am shooting hornady sst's in 250 grns, and looking to try the 300 grn ones. I don't own a micrometer, so does anybody know what the diameter is for the 250 and 300 grn sst bullets for  the for the 50 caliber so I can order the correct sabots?

Thanks,
Bill

I just threw a micrometer on one of my 300 grain SST bullets, the measurement was .452" I figure the 250 grain would be the same .45 CAL.

Now with the sabot attached it comes out to .504
