OT but needs to be said here : DON'T ALWAYS LISTEN TO MAC
« on: October 25, 2005, 03:12:38 PM »
some of you might know that i got a ultra comp barrel and i was talking to mac today on the phone about it and he was trying to get me to drive up to grander mountain and go buy some fusion ammo instead of going deer hunting today.  well mac is right about 9 out of 10 times but to day i didn't take his advise and i went hunting good thing i did too.

my camera batteries died on me out in the field but tomorrow when i have sunlight again i'll take more pics.

So what do you think?? not bad for my second time out this year.

WONDERFUL!!! And couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!! OK, tell us all about it, the time leading up to the shot, the shot, the gun, the load, the reaction of the deer, everything!!! Great job Mitchell!!!....<><....

thats right digger there is no way i could of made that 35 yards shot without shooting with you guys.

well the story. i got off the phone about 3:00 and went out hunting behind the house. got to the blind about 3:15 i didn't see anything (wind was blowing good) and around 6:00 a ceratin bodily actions told me it was time to go home . well about 6:15 i got to the field edge and decided to give the rattling horns one more try. i hit the horns together and 30 seconds later i saw a deer coming out of the woods 300 yards away he made a straight line for me and stopped 35 yards out where i put a arrow from my PSE crossbow thru both lungs he went 20 yards and started falling he didn't even make it out of the field. drove my dodge right up to him.

i kept telling my self to wait for a big one this year (my buck last year was a little bit bigger) but after seeing this guy come from that far away to the horns i had to hit him. oh well i guess my real big buck will have to wait until my out of state trips.

Well Done.   Well Done!

Hope you can do it again next year, or this year in another state.

Take care; and keep it up.

I'm jealous.

I probably won't get to do much hunting this year.

Where's the pics of you passed out after a hard days hunting Mitchell?
