H&R or NEF? edited

I know they are the same company but is one better than the other? Just appears to be a price difference. Looking at .308 NEF Survivor, 30.06 NEF SS, or H&R Ultra .308 or 30.06 (any suggestions?). Could help a friend reload if 308 but not deciding factor.

Hey this is your first post, welcome to Graybeards.
They are pretty much the same, just different finishes on different models.
The Ultras are usually a bit nicer with laminated stock and finish. Also too, the trigger pull is usually pretty good from factory with the Ultras. But they all are the same action.
As for caliber, buy the configuration you want. If you need a rugged hunting rig, then the Survivor, and Stainless Synthetic or blued for that matter will do just fine. But I do like the feel and solidity of a Laminated stock, so I usually use that for Varmint and target shooting.
