Glad to see ya back!

About a couple of months ago I got a 4" 686 in 357 Mag. I'll admit I'm quite impressed with how it feels, shoots, and best of all, I really go for the 7 round cylinder. Shoots great, haven't tried for groups yet. As of now, I still got almost a half pound of Bullseye I want to burn up. My Sig 220 is doing it's best to help in that regard too. :lol:

I think I'll go with W231 or some similar powder for both 38 and 45. Might give Hodgdon Universal a try. I'd like to stick with one powder for all of my low-end pistol rounds, and W296 for my magnum and up pistol rounds.

I shoot mostly 38 plinkers out of it (not more that 700rds all together yet, but close). It has performed to my expectations, and then some, as well as being darn fun to shoot.

Just to be honest, I am a revolver fan at heart. But there is only ONE brand of semi-auto pistol I would be willing to bet my life on...

Just my 460 Mag and 44 Mag in a 629P. I also got a Colt single action army 45L/C older one with stag horn grips from the factory made about in 1989. I also pick up a few rifles.

Redhawk, What is the fastest you can shoot a 410gr bullet out of your new
416 Rigby. I've heard that the Rigby shells can't handle alot of pressure thats why I'm asking the most fps it can handle. I've seen records of the 416 Rigby shooting a 410gr bullet at about 2300 fps but it still had over 5000 ft lbs.

I have not shot any 410 gr. bullets. I have been shooting 300 and 350 gr. Barnes X and solids. As far as speed, I don't bother with those details. I go by my reloading manuals and stick within the limits. I am more concerned with accuracy over speed. As many years as I have been shooting, I thank god I never got anal about the speed of my loads.

I get my gun sighted in and then shoot at different distances to give me an idea of where I am at at different ranges.

I have mine sighted in to 150yds. I don't have mine loaded to top fps. It only going 2370 the last time I checked it with my conagraph. I like knowing how fast my bullets go because the load manuals don't give the correct fps. Oh thats with a 400gr bullet. Good shooting to you

I picked up a 651 .22 mag. in 4" barrel with an awesome action job. Put some nice grained Hogues on her and she is looking great. :grin: :grin: :grin:
