38-55 Up-Grade
« on: October 26, 2005, 02:41:36 PM »
Over the past year or so I have come to love reloading and shooting BPCR's.  Well, today I made a move to concentrate on one and only one cartridge.  It will be the 38-55,  and with this decision I also have come to feel that Black Powder is the right choice for me as well.....no more Pyrodex.....

So, to move forward I have put my (to now) trusty H&R 38-55 Target on the shelf and today visited a local gun shop where I sold some other rifles
(God save me from another impulse purchase of something I will never ever really like to shoot)  and came home with a new in the box "Limited Series" Model 1885 Winchester High Wall in 38-55......# 47 of 150 made......please do NOT tell the wife!!!!

I would appreciate any and all advice on this rifle and load data on a 38-55 BPCR round for this particular rifle.  Thanks.

Topper,
A Winchester High Wall in 38-55 your a lucky guy. I have wanted one for a number of years now but Having two kids it isn't practial. Good luck with the gun. It wasn't until after I read your post that I saw you were from Fall River, I live over in Somerset. Do you belong to any of the local clubs?I'm a member of the Somerset Sportsmans Club.
Good luck with the High Wall, Jim
