I will be getting a a box of Barnes T Shock bullets and load them for my 25 06 in a 100gr and try them. Lawdog and nomosendero what powder do you use. I got a can of Reoloader 19 i was going to load some Nosler 85gr BT. But atfer i seen the Barnes bullet dvd i am going to try some Triple Shock. I look up a 100gr load IMR 4831 work or Reloader 22. What has work the best for you. VM :D

The big question is will the new core add to bullet weight for a given length, say take the 105gr out to 125gr in 243 or 120 to 140gr in the 25cal bullets? I would think that that would be the big advantage of the new core!

No, the core is to make up for what the pure copper pills lack in lead.  Being they are lead free, they had to be made longer in order to remain a certain preferred weight.  In fact, this idea should make for a slightly shorter bullet.  Some people don't like the extra length associated with pure copper bullets (it is said to inhibit powder capacity), and this should help take care of that issue.

My four favorite powders to use in my .25-06's using the 100 gr. Barnes TSX are Reloder 19(54.8 gr. for 3,338 fps.), Reloder 22(56.4 gr. for 3,368 fps.), IMR-4831(56.5 gr. for 3,352 fps.) and IMR-4350(54.2 gr. for 3,322 fps.).  In both of my Rugers(M77V and No. 1) I am seating the TSX at the recommended 0.050" off the lands while I get better accuracy out of my Rem. M700 BDL Varminter by seating 0.035" off the lands.  Lawdog

P.S. - Remember with any load given to you that doesn't come out of a reloading manual start under the stated powder charge level and work up.  As a rule I always start 10% under.  LD

I like RL22 & H4831SC for the 100 grain TSX. RL22 has concerned me a
litttle of late because it is a little too temp. sensitive. So, I would start with
H4831SC.

Thanks guys i have reloader 19 and IMR 4350 on hand. Which powder do you think the weather would make a diff. Is that Hodgdon 4831 or IMR 8431. Would it be worth buying the RR 22 to get 30 fps faster becasue i have the RR 19 it is shooting 30 ft less I have a Rem 700 ADL 25 06 it has the barrel floated and the trigger sat on 3 pds . The gun was new in the box i fount a gun store in TX that had 3 of them left. Becasue i know Rem hasnt made them in a ADL in a few yrs and it (dont) have the j lock on the bolt. VM :D

I was in reference to Hodgdon 4831, the newer short cut version.
