Whatever happened to Jo Anne Hall?
« on: October 27, 2005, 07:40:19 AM »
I've been looking through some old Guns and Ammos and there used to be a ladies column that was done by Jo Anne Hall, a champion shooter. It seems like it would be a good niche for a writer. Whatever happened to her? Gun writers who manage to get a column are usually as persistent as spaghetti stains, but this one seems to have disappeared.  We need more good women writers in the gun trade.

And here I thought we had too dang many already.    Can't say I recall ever hearing of her Rudy. But there are several of them out there writing now. I generally find myself just turning the page when I see their articles. But then I do the same to about 75% of the articles by the men who call themselves writers. Don't seem to find much of what is in the various magazines of interest to me anymore.

:D I have to agree with GB.  It seems the articles just reappear under another writer's name.  Just enough changes or additional information to  prevent a copy write lawsuit.

Course when ya been around as long as GB and myself it's hard write something that we have not read before.

Questor,
Yep, I remember her.  I haven't heard that name in many, many years.  I don't remember the last years I subscribed to Guns and Ammo.  I may have an old one hidden away...I will look and see if she has an article in it just for curiosity...BCB

Questor, she got married in the early 90's or thereabout, changed her name to Hall-Aune, and disappeared not long after that.  I'm sure the demands of marriage and probable motherhood took her off the shooting circuits for good, but she was a decent writer.  She was also fun to watch shooting, I have an old tape from the 80's called "Pistol Masters" and she did a pretty good interview about her equipment and practice routines.  She was a statuesque blonde, as well as a good competitor.  I bet she's turned all that competitive spirit into raising good kids with great values!

There will never be too many good looking, tall, blond female gun writers.
Who, me? Never heard of her! :)

Yes, honey, I'll be right there.
