Opinion on a Brute Force 650

I am hunitng for my first quad.

My local dealer had a 2005 BF 650 that he had for a demo.  It has 37 hours on it.  It seemed to have plenty of power compared to the 350 praire.

What is you opinion on the 650 BF?  How would it do on fuel economy.

He quoted me $5600 for the 650 and $4300 for the Praire (356?).  Or a brand new 2005 BF 650 in camo for $6000.

I was tempted but am going to look at the Yamaha line tomorrow.

Looked, didn't ride, at the Artic Cat 400 LE.  Almost $6200 for a 400.  Seemed a little steep

If you are going to put any kind of a load on it you will NOT like the BF 650 as its rear suspension is MUSH.
I was in the middle of buying one until I put 175 lbs on the back rack and it squated down to the bottom. I asked the dealer to adjust the springs for me so I could get an idea of what it will hold and he called up the mechanic and the mechanic said that that was it and it could not get any stiffer. He also could not believe that it squated down to the bottom.

Well to make a long story short I passed on the BF 650 and bought a new 05 Polaris 700 carb just a couple weeks ago for $5649

The BF 750 has awesome rear suspension and is a great wheeler but is spendy
The Grizzly 660 is a great machine too but is in the 7500 range

Don't know anything bout the BF-650.  I have a BF-750 and really like the power.  Have used it during the winter, when everything was frozen.  Sure has power enough to spare.  Drug a Yamaha 400 out that had blowen his tranny.  He had a Moose in his meat trailer, just left it attached.  Tied him off to my lightly loaded meat trailer and headed to the highway, 36 miles away.  Really surprised that the BF-750 starts at 18 degrees below zero, without being prewarmed.
