Took the Garmin Etrex Camo bowhunting today. It was amazing to find that the "Blue Ribbon" stand is STILL where I left it last year and is .2 miles from the "Forty4" stand. That GEC is fantastic. Had difficulty getting out of the woods in the dark. With all the leaves on the bushes and trees the woods looks different than I left it last year but the GEC knows the way.

tucoblue:  Looks like you are getting your monies worth. Would you recommend the Etrex Camo to Man Shooter.  Seems like the type of unit he is looking for.  The Magellan 100 was suggested to him.  I think both are good units.

Have you played with some in the off season?  They are priced close.

The Etrex is a great unit. It'll get you there and back in the dark. I was looking at the Magellan units at Bass Pro yesterday, but I don't have any experience with them.

Was messing around with the Garmin Summit the other day It has an electronic compass and is always pointing in the proper direction just like a REAL compass. I don't know what else it will do but it is a step beyond the Etrex Camo. Operates the same.
