I like Colts
« on: October 29, 2005, 10:55:47 AM »
Hey Y'all
I'm contemplating a Colt Viper(.38). Not for any particular use but just wheeling and dealing with a friend. Its a one owner, not fired much, 4" stainless.
Whats the "ball park" value?
Thanks, be safe. :D

   Heck, I like them colts too.  Paint horses are my favorite, I just love them tan horses with white faces and stockings.

Although, In my opinion,  they are a little over priced when compared to other firearms, Colts are good guns.  I own several of them, but I think a Smith is just as good, and will serve most people just as effectively as a Colt.  A simular S&W is several hundred dollars less.  Course if you can "steal" one from a friend, you might get a good deal.

You do know the Viper has an allow frame and is almost a copy of the Police Positive.  A 95-98 percent gun should go for approximately 350-400.  I don't think they will ever have any collector's value but it may be worth holding on to since it was only made one year (1977). :D  :D  :D
