MY NEW 7000 AT THE RANGE
« on: October 29, 2005, 11:06:08 AM »
I bought a new marlin 7000 and a new simmons 22mag 3x9x32 a couple of days ago,put them together and off to the range I went today. That is one sweet shooting little rifle. It can shoot a lot better thenI can. This is the first time I'VE shot a 22 since I was a kid a whole lotta moons ago.I got it sighted in and proceded to test a bunch of ammo.I figgered out real fast that I need a better scope,so back it goes to optical planet to exchange for a bushnell 4x12x40 AO.I found out that the simmons was blurry at the higher magnifications. On the ammo issue.I had a brick of federal lightenings,40 grains that I've had for untold years.I also tried cci, mini mags, cci stingers, rem thunderbolt. The federals were the best shooting of the bunch.one group of 5 touching each other.Do they still make the lightenings?or are they called something else now?I love my new 7000. sj
