Tips on loading sabot slugs
« on: October 30, 2005, 01:35:24 PM »
Having a problem getting consistency with reloaded sabot slugs. Bought a kit, just add powder and follow directions.( have been reloading rifle and pistol for years). Getting potential good groups and then bam major fliers. Can't rely on the inconsistency for hunting. Need help. Thanks

Bought the slugs from slugsRus out of PA. It comes with primed hulls, sabot and slug. All you have to do is add the powder and roll crimp.Follow there directions as far as o.a.l and powder  charge. Results are not consistent for me. Still working up loads.

I have the same troubles with my 12 ga  lee mold.
I have taken a few deer with them but not good.  Now I normally use a factory slug round chambered first and then load  one of my reloads for a fast follow up shot or a finishing shot
