Hello,

Not sure if this is the best place to post this or not. A friend of mine recently came upon a WWII relic that belonged to his father. To the best of our knowledge it is a JP Sauer & Sohn model 1930 in 7.65mm. He is wondering if anyone might know of a place where he could locate a manual (either download or purchase), for this pistol.

Thats a european made pistol right?? There's a book at numrich gun parts about: "Famous Auto Pistols & Revolvers" (European)

Hello...

If your friend cannot find an original or reprinted manual on this pistol, a good reference work for this model as well as other Sauer model pistols is the book by Cate & Krause, Vol. II of "J.P. Sauer & Sohn". Pages 141 to approx. 200 offer detailed information on the 1930 Modell and Behorden.
Besides being a good read, there are many interesting period photos as well as photos of the internals of the pistols.

Of course, if your friend is interested in a manual, he will probably have to settle for a reprint of an original manual. I can only suggest what others have already submitted - try Ebay, Auction Arms, and Gunbroker, to name a few.

I have one of those pistols also,
Their operation is actually quite simple.
To Strip,
Press down the rear sight and unthread the round cocking piece
Gently because you do not want to "Launch" any springs.
Once the knob is off, the component parts are free for disassembly.
That is actually a very nice pistol that is made like a Swiss Watch. Mine is extremely accurate for such a small handgun. I would love to have a modern pocket pistol of this quality.
