Wolf Offering New calibers..
« on: November 01, 2005, 08:41:08 AM »
I normally do not use this brand of ammo because
it is not clean burning and is corrosive (No mater what the box says)
But they have just started  offering 6.5 Swede, 7.5 Swiss, 303 Brit.
and 8 MM Mauser in Brass cases... Cheaper than dirt catalog
has it.  I may have to give it another try and see if it has improved...

The newer wolf ammo seems to be cleaner than the earlier wolf ammo was. I have been shooting wolf 45acp and the barrels aren't too bad. Thats great were seeing more in military calibers too with the surplus drying up more and more lately too.  I'm hoping that someone steps up to the plate and carries a good selection of Wolf,  Sellier & Bellot and FNM ammo its our future when and as the surplus runs out completely. But we can't beat the prices on wolf ammo.  The russian made barnaul ammo seems to have dried up lately too for some reason.  I think the higher prices on the russian ammo lately has dealers holding back from buying it so they won't get stuck with it when the prices drop again. I try to buy new ammo when its on sale or special or its priced right.(affordable)

Thanks I'll checkout CTD for the new brass wolf ammo too.

Cabela's is getting more into ammo lately too we have another option with them.

It may not burn clean and stink I know the 22 stuff sure stinks but IT IS NOT CORROSIVE, I have never had any problems with the 762x54 I have shot.  For the record the  Wolf Gold Swiss ammo has the Privi Partizan  headstamp and packaged by Wolf. I would suspect the other calibers do as well. Privi makes good ammo so this new Wolf Gold  stuff should be good stuff.

Head stamp taken from the Swiss Rifle site: NNY equals Privi Partizan

Top GP11 Bottom Wolf Gold

Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Priv Partizan is also making ammo for FNM too.  So its all yugo brass its good stuff.  I just reloaded some 7,5 french and 6,5 swede in the FNM brand and it all went perfect.  Its easy brass to resize its not too brittle its soft. There is someone who has loaded some 6,5 swede priv partizan almost 20 times so far its definitely good brass for the reloader. It all burned clean when new too.

Wolf Gold "brass case"  in most calibers like;

22-250
243
270
30-06
30-30
308

6,5x55 swede
7,5 swiss
303 britt.
7,62x54 russian
8x57 mauser

He who snoozes loses for sure, who ever gets a foot hold in the ammo market with a great assortment of quality ammo in most calibers will surely see the majority of the business.

The nny headstamp was on the old HANSEN cartridge company brass
too. That was some pretty good stuff. Guess i'll have to give it a try.

It sounds like Priv-Partizan makes a lot of ammo for everyone?

+1 to Wolf NOT being corrosive. I don;t know where you got the idea, but it is no more corrosive than Winchester, Federal, or Remington.
Dirty, yes, big time dirty, but not corrosive.[/u]
