Game tracking heat sensor device ?
« on: November 03, 2005, 10:59:27 AM »
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this & if not maybe they can move the post to the appropriate place.

A guy at our hunting camp shot a nice 8 point  with a bow last Sunday, didn't call for help & looked all evening for it & never found it. ( I don't know why he didn't call for help, but we are all Thuroughly ticked about it )

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you bow hunters have used or do use one of the heat sensing tracking devices to find a deer that you can't track ?  I have sound several of the devices  on-line  but don't know anything about them, so I don't know if a $99. is adequate or should we buy a $150. one or do we need the $250. one to have a good one ?

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

I have one but never use it. Instead I rely on my 1.5 million candlepower rechargable light and "eyeball, mk.1".

My buddies father had one (not sure of make and model.)  He hated the darn thing and it wound up sticking it on a shelf to collect dust.  'Course he aint the most patient of people when it comes to new hunting equipment   .

I have one and I have never had to use it to track a deer, I have had my son hide in the woods and used it to find him and it worked.  :D
