Our own town supervisor said he would push to have the rifles banned and he's a deer hunter.  Talk about shooting himself in the foot! I hunt yotes and use a variety of weapons.  I'm careful and considerate.  I use a smaller caliber when I think the noise will be too much for the neighbors.

Not much of a politician...he won't gain votes with nonhunting residents...but could well lose some with hunters.

If what you post is true, it will totally screw up all hunting in all NYS.  How the heck is a person not from the immediate area supposed to know what town he is in and what kind of firearm is allowed for that particuar town?  With all the small rural townships with rather ambiguous borders, it would be impossible to enforce.  And who is going to enforce a town ordnance?  And what if a particular town ordnance only applies to a particular game species?  It just doesn't sound realistic or plausible, but I guess laws don't have to be.

Do they think the game wardens are going to be very concerned with their petty pouts ?
 I cannot understand why some would fear rifle use so very much..we've had .308s, ..270s, 30-06s etc in Thompson Centers and Strykers for years now...
  Just across the border in Pa..they have no real problem simply because of rifles..
  Sometimes I believe politicians will grab onto a subject they know little or nothing about and try to make a vote-getting issue out of it..

  ...But they wouldn't do that..would they ????....LOl

Unfortunately, people who know nothing about guns are still allowed to make laws governing them...maybe I can get someone to let me make rules about brain surgery. Sure, I work on computers and not brains, but so what. I'll just see what the latest news story on brain surgery says and base the rules on that.
