Wildcat cartridges legal for Hunting rifle class competition

Previously I had reported that the 7TCU and other "factory" cartridges had been legalized for Hunting class rifle competition.  

It turns out that the Silhouette Committee is actually going to take some wording from the rule book like "chambered in a factory cartridge" and "provided that wildcat... are not allowed.  Making any cartridge now used in Standard Class legal also in Hunting rifle class.

This is something several people have been asking the Silhouette Committee to do for quite a long time and since we now are not required to use factory rifles the change makes a lot of sense.

I got this information from a member of the Silhouette Committee.

That is what I heard on a phone conversation I had with a committee member this morning.

In situations like this is better to wait for the rule change to be in print but you can always call or Email Greg Connor to verify.

This is what I received from the silhouette division.  Happy days - at last we can use a 7 TCU or whatever suits our fancy for hunter class.  


For high power hunting silhouette rifles, the committee decided to remove the restriction limiting calibers to factory cartridges@ due to the many new caliber offerings from many manufactures.

Rifle Rule 3.1.1 remove 1st sentence, chambered in a factory cartridge and.
 
Rifle Rule 3.1.1 (a) remove the word wildcats.
