I know what you mean about the project's Quick,I've got 4 barrel/calibers in the gun room that hav'nt got loads for yet. Until I got the Survivor in 308 I had 9 barrels and 2 recievers. I think I'm ready to start soon though, because theres about 25 different powders,4different bullet weights for each caliber on my desk.   :D  :D  Digger

HELLO'

i'm glad to see that 'stirring the pot' was finally seen as being some fun around here.    i don't know about all of you, but my grasp of the negativity in the news, and the problems i see in my life, and the lives more immediately around me, have had me struggling sometimes lately.   i admit that i've had a poor attitude at times; and it was only His merciful response to my prayers in the last couple of days that helped me gain some altitude.

i have not been 'trolling', however.   i actually answered the man's questions about his dies not being defective, his lubricant possibly being so, and his carbide dies physical description.....etc.

so, all in all, i'm glad we maintain 'purity' around here, and i'm glad we all understand that Mac' had to sleep overnight in a cold vehicle........!

pipe that in your smoke, and stick it, Mac ! :)

Having fun!  Isn’t that why we shoot Handi rifles?  Isn’t that why we just have to have that .308 gun when we already have a 30-06 that is almost ballisticaly a twin of it?  Sometimes we get too tied up in the seriousness of life and forget to stop and smell the roses or have a little good-natured fun.  By the way we probably would still be living in caves without the occasional pot stirring.

Thanks everyone for the advice!

I will go out and get some dedicated lube for this application!

And thanks for the humor too!  I'm always up for a laugh.

One item that most shooters fail to take into account when shooting, and especially when shooting at long range, is the effect of gravity on the bullet.  We all know that a bullet will drop due to the force of gravity acting upon it.  At sea level, the force of gravity is 32 ft/sec^2.  When one is at higher elevations such as high in the Rockies, a person is further from the center of the Earth.  This if course reduces the pull of gravity upon all objects including the bullet.  Make sure that when you are estimating your long shots you be sure to consider the difference in drop due to the changes in the pull of gravity due to elevation.  I ALWAYS do.  For detailed calculations send a physist an e-mail.

Thanks again for the advice,

Matt

Safety Sheriff was directly responsible for the old NEF Forum being discontinued.

.308-----------------------No, I was just joking, like Safety Sheriff was about the 45-70 having no intrinsic shooting value.   In fact on the old forum I often stuck up for him when he got into the short hairs on some people and they blasted him.....Him and DJ used to have some hot back and forth flames......And, I would never troll..just telling it like it is...
