New (to me) 20 ga. barrel is a winner!
« on: November 07, 2005, 05:04:02 AM »
Thanks to Jeffrey8mm I now have a 20 ga. Mod. Topper barrel to supplement my .410 Topper.  The barrel fit my Topper frame like it was made for it and locks up tight as a bank vault.  I got a chance to test fire it this morning with some Federal 2-1/2", #7 -1/2 "Field & Target" loads. There were no failures to fire or failures to eject the spent shell cases.  For targets I set out half gallon, plastic  juice bottles filled with water and paced off 35 long strides.  It would appear that the barrel shoots to point of aim pretty well because it tumbled the bottles with authority, peppering them with holes.    I counted 43 pellets trapped inside one of the bottles!  :yeah:  I need to find some large pieces of cardboard like an appliance carton to do some patterning.  From what I've seen so far from the juice bottles it looks like I have a reel bunny buster!  :agree:

Thanks Jeff  :D

My 20ga topper deluxe 192 was the best little bunny getter I ever had. It was a 28" mod choke barrel and just handled like a dream. I found one on gunbroker last year and plan to take it out for a little bunny busting as soon as it slows down at work.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun
