colorado trapping/ padded traps

Got a question. I want to start a trapline here in CO, but I noticed in the regs that leghold traps have to be padded. What is the reason? Where do I get padded traps, or can I make regular traps padded?

Rug, your department of natural resources, caved in to the anti's in Aspen.
Read your regs again and again.I do not know if you can even use padded jaw traps without a special ADC permit.
There are several companies that do make padded jaw traps. While I do not have any on hand---I do have access to them.
Colorado ,doesn't rally want you to trap, kind of like California----that's what happens when Californians are allowed to migrate to youe state.
When is California supposed to be sucked into the ocean????Not soon enough,I guess.

That's kinda what I figured. I did read the regs pretty thoroughly, and you're right as far as public land. Trappers have to get a permit on public land, but for private land, just landowner permission. The problem with that is a lot of great land has been bought by leftists from "the people's republic of kalifornia". They are a disease, nothing more.
Also, from what I read in the regs, traps like conibears can't be used either. Guess I'm relegated to calling and shooting critters.
