Twist Rate for Handi's 450 Marlin and 500 S&W

Anyone know the twist rates for the Handi's 450 Marlin or 500 S&W?  Did not find in the FAQ above.  Thanks... Mike

Dunno about the .500 S&W, but Marlin's .450 Marlin levergun is 1:20", it would make sense that the H&R is also since Marlin owns H&R and also uses Green Mountain barrels. It's also the rate of twist for the .45-70, its ballistic twin.

Maybe CW will check his .500 twist rate and report for us. How bout it CW??

Talked to Customer Service (H&R/NEF).

Twist Rate for
450 Marlin is 1:20
500 S&W is 1:18.75
&.62x39mm is 1:9.45

These are not in our FAQ.

7.62x39 is in there, has been for several months, I confirmed it myself when they first came out. I'll add the other two now that you have confirmed them. Thanks Mike!!

 How did you know I was out shooting and needed to clean that bad boy?????

I have been workin lots of OT and not been on as much lately. Gotta work it now, cause next week rifle season opens and I AINT WORKIN THEN!!!

I'll post up shortly with a conformation on the 1: 18.75. At least as near as I can figure with a tight patch and a ruler!! :-D  :-D
