Ruger Website vs. Catalog?
« on: November 07, 2005, 03:12:08 PM »
Does anyone here know why the Ruger catalog doesn't contain all the revolvers offered on their website? I noticed they still have their old Vaquero, even the birdshead models on their website, but no mention of them in their 2005 catalog.

Sometimes they will catalog a model and not have it on the web site too. I think the web site lists the models that are available through dealers, not necessarily what's currently being manufactured. Neither the catalog or the web site list their "special run" guns.

The website isn't updated as frequently as is really should be.  Not a big deal.   The "old" style Vaqueros were still being shipped after the New vaqueros went into production.  At least one distributor recieved a LARGE order of them (1000+) not too long ago.  A small number of birdshead models were also shipped this year as well.   Gotta kinda finish of the models still on the production schedule.
They DO list some of the "special edition" and "distributor edition" models on thier site but not all of them.
In the past they've also introduced a new model or new variation mid-year so it wouldn't be in the catalog but would still be mentioned on the website.

If you're looking for an old style Vaquero, there's still plenty out there.

If you are indeed wanting a old style Vaquero with a birdshead grip, just wait.  Trust me on this one.
