Single Six Fixed Sight Question
« on: November 07, 2005, 04:14:16 PM »
I recently purchased a 5 1/2" Fixed Sight Single Six.  I've noticed that the front fixed blade sight is not properly seated in the slot on the top of the barrel.  It appears to be approximately 1mm forward and ½mm high in the front.  This gives the appearance that the sight is tilted slightly aft.  Looking closely at the front and rear of the sight where the bottom edge meets the barrel you can see the condition via small gaps.  I/O windage is o.k. (which seems to be a more common problem).   I've had it to the range & it shoots fine, but slightly low (1-2").  Anyway, it's been recommended that I send it back to Ruger to have them re-set the front blade sight or replace the barrel altogether.  Has anyone out there had fixed sight work done by Ruger, or a barrel replaced?  I sure don't want to create another problem over something seemingly minor, but if Ruger will make it 'perfect', then why not?

There's your answer!  If Ruger will make it perfect, why not!  It does not affect the function of the gun, but something like that would drive me crazy until I got it fixed.  Send her back to Ruger.  44 Man.
